The GAA was formed during the Stonewall riots in America in 1969 by dissident members of the Gay Liberation Front (GLF) and became active in 1970 campaigning for Human Rights of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer people of America

Through the commitment of the GAA and the GLF the campaign for the Human Rights of the LGBTQ communities became more active and the beginning of the long struggle for acceptance that we also campaign for today

The GAAI are a non government funded equality and human rights lobby and campaign group and rely on donations to sustain it's global work

The GAAI are peaceful but demonstrative groups and individuals from the worldwide community that lobby and campaign for the equality and human rights of Lesbian,Gay.Bisexual,Transgender,Intersexual and other Gender Variant people around the world
